Dane Schadendorf and Freddie McCann each reached three figures as Nottinghamshire's Second XI moved towards 400 on the opening day against Northamptonshire at Lady Bay.
McCann made 110 from 161 deliveries, while Schadendorf will resume on day two unbeaten on 118, as the hosts reached 370/4 at stumps.
The duo compiled a third-wicket stand of 161, before Schadendorf compiled an unbeaten 96-run partnership with Luke Fletcher (46) in the day's closing stages.
Earlier, Ben Martindale made 69 at the top of the order.
