Matthew Montgomery and Joe Clarke have scooped the final two John Pye Auctions Player of the Month awards for the 2023 season.

Montgomery hit 286 runs in the Outlaws’ Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign, with his unbeaten 92 at Canterbury seeing his side to a nail-biting one-wicket win over Kent.

Clarke was named player of the month for September after playing a crucial role as Notts secured Division One safety, before going on to pass 1,000 First-Class runs for the season.

The right-hander hit 141 from 277 deliveries as part of a game-saving rearguard action in his side’s second innings, as Notts eliminated their first-innings deficit before mounting a late push for victory in the evening of day four.

The awards were presented by Carlie Martin of John Pye Auctions.
