Nottinghamshire’s Second XI wrapped up a convincing six-wicket win over Yorkshire in their Second Eleven Championship fixture at Lady Bay.

The visitors resumed the final day on 157-4 after being forced to follow on by Notts and were eventually dismissed for 253.

Matt Carter followed on from his five-wicket haul in the first innings by taking three wickets alongside Jack Blatherwick, with the seamer taking figures of 3-49 from 16 overs.

All rounder Tom Loten top scored with 74 for the White Rose but no other batsman made over 35 as the visitors set Notts a target of just 32 to win.

The home side nearly made hard work of the chase however when Chris Gibson, Chris Nash and Lyondon James were all dismissed inside the first three overs.

But Notts reached the short target in six and a half overs to cap a good all-round performance.

The win sees Notts climb to second in the Second Eleven Championship North Division ahead of their next game against Surrey, which begins at Lady Bay on Monday August 27.
