England Women handed a heavy defeat to South Africa, confirming their place in the final of the ICC Women’s World T20.
A combination of two early wickets from Anya Shrubsole, precise fielding which yielded five run outs, and an unbeaten 44 from Sarah Taylor saw England achieve their target inside seventeen overs.
England will now face Australia in Sunday’s final, held in Mirpur.
"The batters are batting well and the bowlers have been exceptional all tournament,” aid captain Charlotte Edwards.
"Anya was exceptional up front. She's been brilliant, as she has been for the past 12 months. How she is performing is no surprise."
"The best way to stop the runs is to take wickets, particularly in the first six overs," added Shrubsole.
"I've been around long enough now to be able to step up.
"We're working really well as a bowling unit and hopefully that can continue into the final."
Despite winning the Women’s Ashes in Australia this winter, England lost out to their rivals in the shortest format. Former England batter Ebony Rainford-Brent is expecting the contest to be too close to call.
"I am really excited about the final. The two sides are looking great and are equally matched,” she said.
“Anya Shrubsole v Meg Lanning will be a fantastic contest.
"Australia's batting has been consistent and now England are starting to peak.
“It will be a tight match - England lost the T20s in the Ashes - and I probably won't sleep between now and the final."
