Ben Duckett has been named vice captain for England Men’s Metro Bank One-Day Series against Ireland Men this month, which visits Trent Bridge on 23 September.

His Test opening partner Zak Crawley has been named as captain of a 13-player squad for the series which begins at Headingly on 20 September.

28-year-old Duckett burst onto the limited overs scene with England in Pakistan over the winter, striking  233 runs across seven games, with an average of 49.60 and a strike rate of just under 160.

He was then a linchpin of England’s Ashes draw with Australia, before being included in a 15-man squad for England’s IT20 series against New Zealand.

The squad to face the Emerald Isle, meanwhile, includes three uncapped players, Warwickshire batter Sam Hain, Surrey wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith and Derbyshire paceman George Scrimshaw.
