Farhan Ahmed has been included in a 14-player squad for England Men U19s two Youth Tests against Australia U19s this month.

The 15-year-old off-spinner featured in four of the five Youth ODIs against Australia over the last two weeks, and has now earned his first red-ball call up for the Three Lions.

He is a product of the Nottinghamshire pathway, and has played at both Bunbury Festival and ECB Super 4s.

This season, Ahmed has also appeared for Notts’ Second XI, having had success with Notts’ age groups and Academy.

Captain Ben McKinney is one of four players who are retained from the squad that drew 1-1 with Australia U19s in two Youth Tests during the winter.

McKinney’s fellow Durham team-mate Ross Whitfield and Hampshire duo Eddie Jack and Dominic Kelly were also part of the Test squad in Australia.

Young Lions Head Coach, Mike Yardy, said: "We are excited to play two competitive Under-19s Tests against Australia. After two high-quality games last winter in Australia, I expect the same, watching the best young players go head-to-head in red-ball cricket."
